Rock & Roll Legends: The Lost Negatives of Michael Friedman

California Heritage Museum · Experiential · Co-Curator

Nearly 1,000 never-developed negatives of The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Kris Kristofferson, and The Band. Lost for 40 years. Found in Friedman’s attic.

Co-curated the exhibit that introduced them to the world at the California Heritage Museum in Santa Monica. Produced the social campaign that turned a local gallery show into a nationally recognized cultural moment.

The exhibit extended well past its original close date. The photographs are now a permanent collection at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

Some projects remind you why you got into this industry in the first place. This was one of them.
